Overview

The Joint Waste Core Strategy is a strategy for how to manage all the waste produced in Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent for the period 2010 to 2026, setting out where, when and how new waste management facilities will be developed and assessed. 

Why your views matter

To obtain views on the strategy and in particular the four new planning policies, which will guide decisions on future waste planning applications when the Joint Waste Core Strategy is approved by the Government.  The consultation is a statutory requirement - Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, The Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004 (as amended.)

What happens next

Our new Waste Local Plan (formerly referred to as the Waste Core Strategy) was adopted in March 2013 and has now replaced our former plan.
