Draft Revised Statement Community Involvement 2019

Closed 24 Jul 2019

Opened 12 Jun 2019

Overview

Our Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) explains how we will consult with people and organisations when we are preparing planning policies or processing planning applications. Our current SCI was adopted in 2014 and needs to be reviewed to take account of changes in legislation and the approach to planning.

The Draft Revised SCI provides updated guidance and a straightforward explanation of the opportunities to make your views known on all aspects of the planning work that we undertake.  We would be pleased to receive your comments before we produce a final version of the Statement.

Draft Revised Statement of Community Involvement (June 2019)

Why We Are Consulting

Every planning authority must produce a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) to explain how we will consult with people and organisations when we are processing planning applications or preparing planning policies. We are about to replace our SCI, and want to hear people’s comments on the new document before it is formally adopted by the County Council.

What Happens Next

We will collate and publish all of the comments received during the consultation period (to 24 July 2019), and will take them into account as we finalise the Statement of Community Involvement.  The document will then be considered by the Cabinet, with a view to formal adoption in August 2019.
