Staffordshire County Council and Staffordshire’s Clinical Commissioning Groups are working with others to improve the way children with special education needs and disabilities (SEND) are supported.
An important part of this is agreeing a set of principles that will guide the way professionals across education, health and social care will support children and young people, as well as setting out the commitments made by our communities and families.
These principles will form Staffordshire’s SEND Strategy.
Over 350 local people and professionals have told us what is important to them to improve SEND support across Staffordshire.
Using our findings, we have worked with a small group of professionals, parents and young people to create a draft SEND Strategy.
We want to make sure that this draft strategy accurately reflect your views and captures the key principles that you think are important.
Before you start
Make sure you read the SEND Strategy document at www.staffordshire.gov.uk/SENDStrategy
After the consultation, we will take on board all of the comments and ammend the strategy. We plan to launch the final SEND strategy in March 2021.
