Mid-Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Consultation

Closed 1 Oct 2013

Opened 6 Aug 2013

Residents are being urged to have their say in shaping health services – after proposals for the future of both Stafford and Cannock hospitals were announced. The Trust Special Administrators have recommended that the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust be dissolved and a restructure of how healthcare is delivered.

At Stafford Hospital, it is proposed that it would retain its 14 hours seven-day-a-week A&E service, but lose critical care, maternity and paediatric in-patient services to other hospitals. Cannock Hospital would see increased services with assistance from the Royal Wolverhampton Trust.

Why your views matter

Although the recommendation is to dissolve Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust, it will be the Secretary of State’s call on whether it is replaced with another trust. Go through to the main consultation website to have your say; or download the full consultation document here.
